Beach Cleaners: Litter Removal for Safe Beaches

Proven mechanical raking beach cleaners, like the Barber SURF RAKE, excel at removing litter and garbage of all sizes from the beach.

Litter as large as empty beer boxes (see video bellow) or as small as cigarette butts (see photo to the right) can all be removed by this versatile style of beach cleaner. By combining the small-material cleaning strength of the offset tines, as depicted in the diagram on our home page, with the tines' ability to snatch larger litter and deposit it in the bucket, tine raking is the most effective kind of beach cleaner for removing man-made litter from beaches.

In addition to removing traditional debris and litter from beaches, like beer cans and paper plates, these beach cleaners excel at removing hazardous materials; such as, buried syringes, glass, and other safety hazards. Beach cleaners are essential for ensuring safe, litter-free beaches, not simply visually pleasing ones.

The above video demonstrates how the mechanical raking beach cleaners helped  Panama City Beach clean its beach during Spring Break. The beach cleaner returns garbage-ridden  sand to its former pristine state. Since the beach maintenance team needed to clean the beaches immediately after the Spring Break daytime events, the operators cleaned into the night.
